My girlfriend and I wanted to go exploring a bit the other day and we ended up taking our lunch to Look Rock on the Foothills Parkway. It’s a pretty ridiculously short hike up to the lookout tower, but I’ve always enjoyed the views from up there. What’s even more fun is exploring the rocks down below.
On this particular occasion I had made the mistake of leaving the DSLR at my parents home. As we were departing on our adventure I decided to grab my dad’s old Nikkormat camera (which I had at my place) and pick up some film at Walgreens on our way. This image is my favorite capture from the roll of 24. It was an interesting and fun challenge trying to get good shots with the old SLR, I had to actually stop, think, and focus. It’s crazy how much we don’t have to do that much these days.
